My boys playing in Lake Michigan! It was such a beautiful day. We may have to go back today - we are supposed to break the heat record for Memorial Day in Chicago.

For Uncle Carl: Pictures of Caleb & Zion!

We took a walk to the neighborhood toy store to buy a birthday gift for Caleb's friend Julian. It was a gorgeous day here - finally up to 70 degrees! (My Texas friends can go ahead and laugh now.) I took along the camera to try and get a few shots--you can see how that turned out!

Here is my favorite of the day!

Happy Anniversary to us!

May 20, 1995!

Tomorrow is our 11th wedding anniversary! How is it possible we are that old??

Here we are, then and now.

We look pretty good, I think!

Tonight we are seeing Spamalot at the Palace theater. Check out this place!

Here is our apartment building! We are not unhappy with it, as student housing goes. We are on the 3rd floor, no elevator, no air conditioning, and the door frames slant to the right, but...

The building on the right is Caleb's school, Ray Elementary. It is HUGE - 800 students, pre-K to 6th grade. It was quite shock for him (and Mom!) coming from Live Oak, which had 43 students total last year! Caleb has regular Spanish classes and is looking forward to being in Chess Club in the next school year.

This is my school! I was on a committee this year to try to get some artwork and/or plants to liven up the front of the building. It would help, don't you think???

And, finally, Augustana Lutheran Church in Hyde Park (and Lutheran Campus Ministry!) It is extremely hard to get a picture of the church. This one is actually from the 80's, I think! The seminary is directly across the street, and Caleb's school is two blocks away. When we walk out of our back door, we look down the alley at the church. Who needs a car, anyway?

Welcome to our blog!

Hi Everyone!
Welcome to our blog! I thought we would give this a try as a way to keep you all updated on our lives in Chicago. We are so busy that we often don't have time to call our good friends in other parts of the country. However, we think of you all often and wish we had time to talk more!

I will try to post pictures here of our adventures living in the Windy City. We've done some amazing things in the last school year, and have more planned. We are all adjusting to the weather here, although when is summer going to arrive??

Love you all,
Carrie
